Floyd Mayweather Jr will finally make his much-awaited comeback on May 4 but not against Manny Pacquiao or Saul “Canelo” Alvarez. The undefeated American will display his superb boxing skills when he takes on Robert Guerrero in an expected slam-bang affair in Las Vegas.
Mayweather (43-0, 26 KOs) has not fought since grabbing the World Boxing Association Super World light middleweight title when he defeated Miguel Cotto last May via unanimous decision. The 35-year-old champion, who also bagged the World Boxing Council Diamond light middleweight title, was way ahead in the scorecards, but he had a tough night against his Puerto Rican opponent. There are questions about Mayweather’s condition after serving jail time for two months, but the multiple-division champion is still a tough nut to crack.
On the other hand, Robert Guerrero (31-1-1, 18 KOs) will finally get a chance to put himself in the ranks of the best boxers in the world today. The 29-year-old California-native is coming from a sensational unanimous decision win over Andre Berto to retain the interim WBC welterweight title. Before defeating Berto, Guerrero also decisioned Selcuk Aydin last July in San Jose, California.
While he has been out for more than half a year now, Mayweather will still be the overwhelming favorite in his upcoming bout against Guerrero. But with Guerrero’s determination and momentum, the fighter dubbed as “The Ghost” is expected to give his best shot against “Pretty Boy” next year. Will it be another win for Mayweather or a stunning upset for Guerrero? Get your Mayweather vs Guerrero tickets now to witness history unfold on May 4 in Las Vegas.
